GUNTHER STILL THINKS ABOUT BROCK LESNAR
Gunther is the current WWE Intercontinental Champion and is just days away from having a year of reign, and there is already much speculation that he will break the record of Honky Tonk Man for the longest reign of this title.
In an interview with the My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast, the "Ring General" spoke about the moment he had with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
"That moment with Brock Lesnar [at the Royal Rumble] was just what I needed. I don't think it needed a lot of action with him, for us to be involved in a little fight and so just the timing and the audience reaction was all I needed.
Just look at how people on the internet read things and people get excited easily, but often the enthusiasm of the internet doesn't translate to the venue.
When that happened, I thought that compared to the United States, especially the United Kingdom, people understand the competition. They tend to look at combat as a competition and then react emotionally rather than expecting a bang right away."
When asked if Triple H would schedule a match against Brock Lesnar in the UK, Gunther said:
"I hope so. The question is, who knows...
We had great success with Clash at the Castle and now that we're back with Money in the Bank I hope this becomes a tradition and they venture out to Europe for the big events."
