RONDA ROUSEY LEAVES WWE AFTER SUMMERSLAM

Ronda Rousey will not be around to avenge her loss to Shayna Baszler at WWE SummerSlam and rumors are strong that she will be leaving WWE after tonight's pay-per-view and her return date to the company is unknown.

Ronda Rousey's second season in WWE began at Royal Rumble 2022, with the Baddest Woman on the Planet returning in the Women's Royal Rumble Match, a match she ended up winning. This started a program with Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship, a program that Rousey eventually won at Backlash following a loss at WrestleMania 38.

This kept Rousey in contention for the SmackDown Women's Title for the remainder of the year feuding with Liv Morgan and Shotzi before Ronda lost the belt back to Charlotte Flair shortly before the end of 2022.

Rousey was involved in the tag team division in 2023, holding the women's tag team titles with Shayna Baszler briefly until Baszler turned on her MMA teammate at Money in the Bank, dropping the belts to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the process.

The betrayal led to an MMA match at SummerSlam which Baszler won, apparently ending Rousey's time on WWE TV in the process. Rumors that Rousey would be stepping down from WWE surfaced in early July.
