ANDRADE RELEASED BY WWE

WWE surprised its fans by announcing Andrade's release. The news was initially reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and confirmed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. Shortly after the announcement, the wrestler appeared in the alumni section of the company's official website.

Unlike other cases, this departure is not part of a mass layoff nor was it the result of a mutual decision. So far, there is no evidence that Andrade has asked to leave the company.

The 35-year-old wrestler made his final appearance for WWE at SummerSlam, in a Six-Way TLC match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. This second stint with the company began at the 2024 Royal Rumble, when he returned after nearly three years with AEW. Upon his return, he won the Speed Championship, a title he held for over 160 days. During this period, Andrade competed in approximately 62 matches, many of them partnered with Rey Fenix.

During his first stint in WWE, between 2016 and 2020, Andrade stood out as NXT Champion and also won the United States Championship, solidifying his reputation as a top-tier talent within the company.

With his release official, fans are already speculating about the wrestler's next steps. A return to AEW is seen as a possibility, as his previous departure was on good terms. Other companies such as AAA, TNA, and CMLL, where Andrade has previously worked, also appear as possible destinations.

Andrade's departure highlights WWE's current strategy of adjusting its roster according to creative plans and internal priorities, even when dealing with an established wrestler. For Andrade, a new chapter opens: he has enough resume, titles, and recognition to continue shining for other major wrestling promotions, but his immediate future still remains uncertain.
