WWE NXT TAKES THE BEST IN AUDIENCE BATTLE WITH AEW DYNAMITE
When Dynamite began airing in 2019, there was a months-long ratings war, which Tony Khan's company won, eventually causing NXT to move to Tuesdays. This week, we had another chapter of this dispute, because the WWE development brand program was broadcast outside of its usual day and on the same day and time as Dynamite.
This Wednesday's NXT, at the ECW Arena, recorded an audience of 619 thousand viewers, a figure above the 588 thousand obtained last week. Wednesday's Dynamite recorded an audience of 523 thousand viewers, a figure below the 628 thousand obtained last week.
NXT's victory was unexpected given that it was broadcast outside of its usual day, and demonstrates the poor phase that AEW's programs are going through in terms of their television audiences. As a reminder, last month Dynamite was destroyed when it aired on the same day as NXT, on Tuesday, October 8th.
