WWE broadcast another edition of NXT on the CW Network this Tuesday, from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, leading up to the Great American Bash on July 12. ILJA DRAGUNOV INJURED

A few weeks ago it was reported that Ilja Dragunov would relinquish the NXT UK Championship due to a leg injury, but it is not yet known how long he will be out of the ring and WWE shows. During NXT UK this Thursday, the Russian fighter went to the ring and spoke to fans, then announcing that he had relinquished the title, after a successful title defense against Wolfgang last week. 

Ilja Dragunov won the NXT UK Championship when he beat Gunther (then WALTER) at NXT Takeover 36 on August 22 of last year, and has successfully defended him on six separate occasions.

With the NXT UK Championship vacant, it was announced that next week an eight-man tournament will begin to determine who will be the new champion, in which the first round will be: Charlie Dempsey vs Oliver Carter, Wolfgang vs Trent Seven, Tyler Bate vs Kenny Williams and Joe Coffey vs Mark Andrews.
