On the evening of May 19, 2025, during the episode of WWE Raw held in Greenville, South Carolina, wrestler Zoey Stark suffered a serious knee injury during a qualifying match for the women's Money in the Bank. The match, which also featured Rhea Ripley and the returning Kairi Sane, was interrupted after Stark injured herself while attempting a missile dropkick from the top rope.
As she performed the move, Stark landed awkwardly, causing her right knee to bend abnormally. She immediately showed intense pain, and was treated by medical personnel and removed from the ring without being able to put any weight on her injured leg. The match continued as a singles match between Ripley and Sane, with Ripley emerging victorious and securing her spot in the women's Money in the Bank.
This is not the first time Stark has dealt with knee problems. In 2021, during the NXT Halloween Havoc event, she suffered ACL, MCL and meniscus tears, injuries that kept her out of the ring for almost nine months. While there is still no official diagnosis on the severity of the current injury, there are concerns that it could be a recurrence of previous injuries.
Her ringmate Rhea Ripley expressed her sympathy on social media, highlighting the risks of the profession and wishing Stark a speedy recovery.
WWE's medical team is closely monitoring the situation, and updates on Zoey Stark's health are expected to be released soon.
