CHRIS JERICHO RETURN TO WWE AFTER LEAVING AEW

Chris Jericho has once again become a topic of conversation behind the scenes in the wrestling industry due to the possibility of a WWE return. The veteran is under contract with AEW until December 2025, but a simple gesture on social media has reignited speculation. Recently, Jericho liked an Instagram post that raised the possibility of his return to WWE in 2026, which was enough to generate significant buzz among fans and the press.

Despite the buzz, Jericho has made it clear in several interviews that he is happy at AEW. In an interview with the Daily Star, he stated that he has "zero interest" in returning to WWE, emphasizing that he is happy with the creative freedom and responsibilities he has gained in Tony Khan's company. In addition to his work as a wrestler, he also works behind the scenes, helping develop storylines and talent.

Still, in April 2025, during the HRWF event, Jericho adopted a more open tone about his future, saying: "Of course I would consider returning to WWE. I would also consider not returning. It depends on the situation and how I'm doing at that moment." This statement contradicts his previous position and left open the possibility of a return if conditions are favorable.

Fan reaction was also intense. Many believe that a Jericho return could serve as his final stretch in the ring or even pave the way for his well-deserved induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Others point out that he could take on roles outside of the action, such as commentator or manager, maintaining relevance without the physical demands of wrestling.

For now, Jericho remains a key player in AEW and has already stated that he would like to end his career there. However, his contract is nearing its end, and the simple fact that he's keeping the door ajar to WWE means his trajectory in the coming years will be monitored even more closely.
