FORMER UFC OWNER EYES TNA

In recent days, rumors have surfaced that Lorenzo Fertitta, former UFC owner, may be interested in acquiring TNA Wrestling. The speculation gained momentum after Fightful journalist Sean Ross Sapp commented that Fertitta's name had surfaced in backstage conversations, although he himself downplayed the matter, calling it "wild and unfounded rumors."

This possible interest comes at a time of great instability for TNA. Since 2024, the company has been the target of acquisition proposals. Scott D'Amore, after his departure, even attempted to take control of the company, but his offer was rejected. Tony Khan, owner of AEW, also revealed that he attempted to acquire TNA on two occasions: before the founding of All Elite Wrestling and some time afterward, without success.

WWE has also been on the radar of these negotiations.  There are reports that Triple H and Nick Khan's company has made inquiries in the past, not only due to the potential of TNA's catalog, but also to weaken competitors like AEW. In fact, there is a contractual clause that guarantees WWE the right to match any purchase offer made to TNA, should negotiations progress.

If Lorenzo Fertitta does decide to invest, his entry could mark a significant return to the world of sports entertainment. Known for transforming the UFC into a global powerhouse, Fertitta would have sufficient resources and experience to revitalize TNA and position it more competitively in the market. On the other hand, if WWE exercises its right of first refusal, it could end up absorbing the company or controlling its strategic assets.
