WWE RETURNS WITH FORMER ECW PLE

WWE is preparing a bold strategy to face competition from AEW: the return of the classic WrestlePalooza event as a Premium Live Event. The show is scheduled to take place on September 20, 2025, the exact same day as AEW's All Out, marking a direct clash with the rival promotion. Unlike previous tactics, which involved NXT holding events in conflict with AEW's major shows, this time WWE will utilize its main roster in a clear change of strategy.

Rumors suggest the closing match will be between John Cena and Brock Lesnar, in a high-impact match that could mark Cena's final match.

This epic battle was carefully planned for September: Brock Lesnar was deliberately kept out of the Clash in Paris event in August to ensure his appearance at the September 20 show, as revealed by Dave Meltzer.

Furthermore, Lesnar has already been officially announced for appearances at WWE SmackDown shows in early September, such as in Norfolk (12) and Toledo (19), paving the way for his confirmed appearance in the main event. WWE plans to intensify its competition against AEW, raising the bar with a high-caliber event featuring its biggest stars.

The choice of WrestlePalooza brings a nostalgic touch, as the name was established in ECW during the 1990s and 2000s. A match between Cena and Lesnar that could mark the end of Cena's career further intensifies the appeal and emotional charge of the event.

With the return of WrestlePalooza, WWE is betting on a direct confrontation with AEW, supported by big names like Cena and Lesnar. The event promises to be one of the highlights of the season, especially if the main event truly marks John Cena's farewell.
