AFA ANOA'I PASSED AWAY AT AGE 81

WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa'i passed away on Tuesday, August 16, at the age of 81. Afa was one of the Wild Samoans and uncle of Roman Reigns. His son, Samu Anoa'i, who also wrestled in the WWF, was the first to inform fans of his father's passing, through a post on his Facebook account.

"It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of my father Afa Anoai Sr. It was a peaceful transition and he was surrounded by loved ones. Please respect our privacy as we grieve our father".

Afa lost her cap in 1971 and toured in several territories before arriving in the WWE (WWF) in 1979. He held the WWE World Tag Team Championships twice in his first tenure with the company, alongside Sika as the Wild Samoans, and did so a third time later.

Afa Anoa'i's last WWE match came in 1994, and he was inducted into the company's Hall of Fame in 2007. Afa, like Sika, also appeared alongside Roman Reigns following the 2020 Hell in a Cell. Meanwhile, WWE has already left a message of condolences to everyone in Afa Anoa'i Si's family.
