LONDON MAYOR WANTS TO HOST THE NEXT WRESTLEMANIA

With the success of WrestleMania 40, all wrestling fans are eager to know which city will host the next big WWE event, as the 2025 edition has not yet been officially announced. In previous years, the location of the next WrestleMania was announced at least a year in advance.

On May 2nd, London residents will vote for the 2024 municipal election. Sadiq Khan, the current mayor, is campaigning and has promised big news for sports fans. In addition to wanting to bring the Olympics back to the city and host the Super Bowl, Khan supported the campaign for London to host a future WrestleMania:

“London is a world leader in major sporting events and has hosted some of the most memorable moments of recent decades. From the Olympics to the women's football team's European Championship victory at Wembley, to Ashes Cricket at Lord's and The Oval, London is the center of attention. If re-elected on May 2nd, I am determined to go even further and solidify London's reputation as the undisputed sporting capital of the world.

I believe London has the potential to host the first international WrestleMania. In the meantime, my message to anyone traveling to the Paris Olympics this summer is to include a visit to London in your itinerary to enjoy everything our city has to offer.”

As wrestling fans know, Khan's statement about holding the first international WrestleMania in London is not accurate, as Canada hosted the event in 1990 and 2002. In July 2023, John Cena made a surprise appearance at Money in the Bank at the O2 Arena in London, and also said he would like the city to host WrestleMania.
