MALAKAI BLACK MAY BE RETURNING TO WWE

With rumors of Malakai Black leaving AEW gaining momentum, speculation about a possible return to WWE is mounting.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been “obvious” discussions about Black within WWE’s creative team, though no official confirmation of his departure from AEW has been made. Meltzer reported:

“There’s been a lot of talk over the last couple of days about Malakai Black. Backstage, the word was that he was out [of AEW], though when we tried to confirm, no one would comment. It’s been reported elsewhere, and a person close to the situation said they were confirming it to us, but when we asked on the record, there was no confirmation or denial. No one expects him to return. There’s also been talk from WWE that he’s expected back there when his contract expires. That’s been the case for a while, but there’s evidently been some conversation within WWE’s creative team about him recently.”

Black has been a prominent figure in AEW since joining the company nearly four years ago, leading the House of Black faction alongside Buddy Matthews, Brody King and Julia Hart. Recent developments on Dynamite, including Will Ospreay’s win over Matthews and his rant about the faction not needing a leader, have fueled speculation about Black’s departure.
