VINCE MCMAHON RETURNS

The Vince McMahon saga took another interesting turn this morning with the news that he is officially back on the WWE Board of Directors. Initial reports released on January 5 indicated that McMahon was planning his return to WWE following his departure on July 22, 2022.

Despite the WWE Board of Directors' investigation into multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, the Wall Street Journal reported in the last month that McMahon was planning to return to WWE believing he received bad legal advice and that the whole scandal would eventually end if he stayed with the company.

Now, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reports that a new registration, effective immediately, places Vince McMahon, Michelle Wilson and George Barrios on the WWE board and removes independent directors Alan Wexler, JoEllen Lyons Dillon and Jeffrey Speed.

Thurston also pointed out that McMahon made amendments to the WWE Bylaws so media rights deals and company sales cannot be made without his approval. Part of his return to the company has to do with why he sold WWE.
