MERCEDES MONÉ REACTS TO NAOMI AT WWE EVOLUTION

After the conclusion of WWE Evolution 2025, in one of the night's most memorable moments, Naomi cashed in her Money in the Bank contract, defeated IYO SKY with a Split-Legged Moonsault, and won the Women's World Championship. The surprising move caused a huge stir, and among the reactions, one of the most talked-about was that of her friend Mercedes Moné, currently an AEW star. The message was interpreted by many as a warning: Naomi won the belt, but now she will have to deal with high expectations and rivals ready to challenge her. The reaction caused a huge stir in the wrestling world, after all, the friendship the pair built in WWE (when they were tag team champions) remains strong, even with their careers taking different paths.  Mercedes and Naomi were tag team partners during their time in WWE, winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships in 2022. TRIPLE H RULES OUT ANNUAL WWE EVOLUTION

Following the conclusion of WWE Evolution 2025, Paul "Triple H" Levesque participated in the press conference and discussed the future of the event. While highlighting the success of the second edition, WWE's Chief Content Officer was blunt in stating that Evolution won't necessarily be an annual event.

"I've wanted to do Evolution 2 since the first Evolution... for various reasons, the timing wasn't ideal. Now it is" explained Triple H. "When talent starts hearing rumors like, 'Are we going to do Evolution again?', you see that light in their eyes. They're eager to rock and make their mark."

This year's Evolution, held on July 13th at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, marked the return of WWE's all-women's event after seven years. The decision to bring it back came about due to the ideal timing, both logistically and the current depth of the women's roster.

However, Triple H emphasized that this doesn't mean Evolution will be a fixture on the company's annual calendar.

"I can't wait to build this platform again and see them give it their all. But I can't guarantee it will happen every year. We want to maintain the level of excellence and hold the event when it's truly special."

This second edition of Evolution also marked the first time that an all-women's WWE event was simultaneously broadcast on Peacock and Netflix, expanding its global reach and reinforcing the positioning of the women's division as a fundamental part of the brand.

Despite the great audience reception and the enthusiasm of the wrestlers, WWE chooses not to make Evolution a routine event, but rather a one-off celebration held when the conditions are right to deliver something great.
