WWE TO DONATE PROCEEDS FROM HULK HOGAN MERCHANDISE TO FAMILY

Following Hulk Hogan's passing on July 24th, WWE announced a tribute to the wrestler who marked generations. The company launched the "Hulk Hogan Legacy Collection," a special line of merchandise celebrating the two most iconic phases of Hogan's career: the Hulkamania era and his time joining the nWo. The collection features t-shirts, pajamas, paintings, Funko Pops, and other items that evoke the wrestler's classic look, both in his heroic red and yellow phase and in the black and white of the new world order.

The most notable aspect of the launch was WWE's decision to donate all net proceeds from the collection's sales to the family of Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea. The announcement was made during SmackDown on July 25th, the day after the wrestler's death, which received a moving tribute featuring several figures from the company's past and present. According to a statement, WWE sees this gesture as a way of thanking and recognizing one of the greatest icons in the history of sports entertainment.

Hogan passed away at the age of 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Despite being mired in controversy in recent years, Hogan's legacy is undeniable. He was a central figure in popularizing WWE in the 1980s with Hulkamania, and later revolutionized the industry again by becoming one of the leaders of the nWo group in WCW in the 1990s. His impact transcended the ring, reaching pop culture, television, and even politics.

WWE's decision to direct the proceeds from the collection to the family caused a stir on social media. Many fans praised the initiative, considering it a noble and respectful gesture. Others, however, questioned the transparency of the action, debating whether the money could have been donated to charities such as hospitals or addiction support centers, causes with which Hogan also had some connection in the past.

Regardless of opinions, the action reinforces Hulk Hogan's symbolic role both inside and outside the ring. The collection, more than just a product, represents a commercial and emotional farewell to one of the greatest legends in pro wrestling.
