WWE SIGNS AAA STARS AFTER HISTORIC ACQUISITION

WWE wasted no time in announcing the purchase of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide during the Countdown on the first night of WrestleMania 41. The company quickly began the process of integrating Mexican talent, officially signing eight top AAA wrestlers. As required by WWE's legal structure, all signed new exclusive contracts, respecting the company's intellectual property standards and other corporate clauses.

Among the confirmed names are Alberto El Patron, Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Hijo del Vikingo, La Parka, La Hiedra, Lady Flammer, Lady Maravilla and Niño Hamburguesa. This move reinforces WWE's plan to boost the international presence of lucha libre, without losing its cultural essence.

The main highlight of this group is El Hijo del Vikingo, currently considered one of the biggest names in Mexican wrestling.  WWE has already begun promoting his image to a global audience, and he even made an appearance at WrestleMania 41, generating huge repercussions.

As part of the strategy to present this merger to the public, WWE held the Worlds Collide event at the Kia Forum in June, bringing together stars from Raw, SmackDown, NXT and AAA. In this supercard, Vikingo defended the AAA Mega Championship in a remarkable match against Chad Gable, in addition to other confrontations that demonstrated the potential of this historic partnership.

According to Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, the priority is not to transform AAA’s traditional style, but to enhance it and take it to new audiences around the world. To ensure the continuity of the lucha libre legacy, WWE sealed the deal with the Mexican holding company Fillip, purchasing 51% of AAA and keeping the Peña family in charge of operational management.

The plan calls for a gradual integration: some wrestlers may begin their WWE journey through NXT or special events in Mexico, before moving to the main roster. At the same time, the company is considering expanding its shows in Mexico even further, taking advantage of AAA's credibility in the country.

With Alberto El Patron, Vikingo, La Parka, La Hiedra, Lady Flammer, Lady Maravilla, Niño Hamburguesa and Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. now under contract, WWE is taking a giant step toward a future of cultural and sporting exchange. This fusion of traditions promises not only to renew the global wrestling scene, but also to pave the way for new stars to shine on the biggest stages of sports entertainment.
