DISNEY WANTS TO STREAM WWE?

WWE's contracts with FOX and the USA Network to air SmackDown and Raw expire in October 2024. In deals of this magnitude, things are not resolved on time, and about a year and a half before the end of the contracts, there are already negotiations between Vince McMahon's company and the two television stations.

This Monday, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported that both Disney and Amazon Prime are showing great interest in buying the rights to WWE television shows.

At a time when the time for exclusive negotiations between WWE, FOX and USA Network is coming to an end, it is pointed out that Disney has shown great interest in buying the broadcasting rights.

If that happens, Raw and SmackDown will be broadcast on FX, because ESPN, with the amount of sports it already broadcasts, cannot guarantee an exclusive night for the two programs.

It should also be noted, according to WrestleVotes, WWE welcomes this possible interest from Disney in the transmission of its programs.

In the case of Amazon Prime, the interest will only materialize at the end of the contract between WWE and Peacock, with the streaming service being known for paying quite well for unique events. The platform paid $1 billion (one billion) a year to stream NFL Thursday games.
