DISNEY AND AMAZON INTERESTED IN SMACKDOWN

The television rights contracts for WWE programs (Raw, NXT and SmackDown) end in 2024, and there has been a lot of talk about what the future of the company's programs will be, which now belongs to Endeavor.

On the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer pointed out that Disney and Amazon are interested in purchasing the television rights to SmackDown.

The journalist began by saying that Raw and NXT should continue to be broadcast on the USA Network, but that WWE will ask for a large price increase on these programs, especially Raw. WWE wants to receive 700 million dollars for purchasing the television rights to the red brand's program.

Regarding SmackDown, it is believed that FOX will not pay 300 million dollars for the program, and that WWE wants to receive more money. At this moment, Disney and Amazon are great candidates to buy the television rights to the blue brand's program.

Dave Meltzer stated that if Disney buys SmackDown, it could be broadcast on ABC or FX, with the possibility of the program no longer being broadcast on Fridays. However, with everything that is going on around WWE, all of this is just rumors for now and the future of the programs will only be known in a few months.
