VINCE MCMAHON BEING ACCUSED OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT
During 2022, Vince McMahon faced turmoil and left WWE in the summer, immersed in scandals related to former employees. In a return scheduled for 2023, McMahon participated in the sale of WWE to Endeavor, giving rise to the TKO Group, which also includes the UFC, now with the addition of The Rock to the Board of Directors.
However, recently, the Wall Street Journal revealed new allegations of abuse against Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis, brought forward by former WWE employee Janel Grant. Grant alleges that McMahon subjected her to sex trafficking, sexual assault and emotional abuse, promising career advancement in exchange for sexual favors. In 2022, she signed a three million dollar confidentiality agreement, of which she claims to have only received 1/3 of the amount.
Grant's allegations, as detailed in the Wall Street Journal, reveal a disturbing pattern of behavior by McMahon, from inappropriate greetings to graphic sexual assaults, including being locked in a private locker room. Graphic messages and the sharing of explicit photos are cited in the lawsuit, indicating a toxic and abusive environment at the company.
John Laurinaitis is also named in the lawsuit, recruited by McMahon to participate in the sexual assaults on Grant. The report includes situations in which both executives took turns and forced themselves on the former employee, using degrading language.
These serious allegations now hang over the wrestling world, adding a dark chapter to WWE's already troubled recent history. TKO Group and Endeavor are facing a new wave of challenges as the courts seek to clarify the allegations made by Janel Grant.
