MATT RIDDLE WINS NJPW WORLD TITLE

First night of The New Beginning In Sapporo, held this Friday, Matt Riddle won the NJPW World TV Championship. After leaving WWE and restarting his journey on the independent circuit, Matt Riddle returned to stardom by winning his first title in NJPW.

The "Original Bro" won the NJPW World TV Championship at The New Beginning In Sapporo, defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi in the show's semi-main event. At the end of the match, Matt Riddle beat "Ace" and president of New Japan when he applied BroDerek.

Hiroshi Tanahashi held the NJPW World TV Championship for just 50 days, after winning it from Zack Saber Jr. at Wrestle Kingdom 18. Backstage, new champion Matt Riddle was confronted by former champion Zack Saber Jr., leaving a possible rivalry between them in the air.
