MJF RETURNS TO MLW AND SURPRISES MÍSTICO AT SUMMER OF THE BEASTS

On Thursday's edition of MLW Summer of the Beasts, the audience barely had time to absorb Místico's energy on the microphone when they were surprised by an ambush worthy of a high-level rivalry.

After the wrestler answered the fans' call in the ring, a coordinated attack by the CONTRA Unit group began. In the midst of the confusion, Místico showed his worth by facing several masked opponents, until he was stabbed in the back. The person responsible? MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman), who made a surprise return to MLW after almost five years - his last stint with the company was in 2020.

With the microphone in his hands during the invasion, MJF directly provoked Místico, promising not only a new confrontation, but also to "humiliate" him with all the pomp worthy of Mexico and CMLL.

In the recent history between the two, a fight at AEW Grand Slam Mexico stands out, which ended in disqualification — an encounter that brought great expectations but without a definitive resolution.

In addition to the impact of the unexpected presence, fans on social media reacted enthusiastically to MJF's boldness in returning to the promoter that revealed him, where he was the middleweight and tag team champion. On Reddit, the mood was one of jokes and nervousness:

“Felt like MJF just lightly tapped Mistico's inner thigh lol”

“Been the end of being when the greatest heels to ever do it”

The moment promises different paths for the story: preparing a major rematch, perhaps with bigger stakes, like “mask vs hair”, or even rekindling a rivalry a la Místico vs. MJF towards a big showdown in the future.
