THE ABSENCE OF DOMINIK MYSTERIO AND CHAD GABLE SURGERY
WWE is going through a difficult time with two important losses on its active roster. Both Dominik Mysterio and Chad Gable have been removed for medical reasons, which should directly impact the course of the storylines in the upcoming episodes of the weekly shows.
Dominik Mysterio has officially been removed from the Intercontinental title match that would take place at the Night of Champions event. The announcement was made by Adam Pearce, Raw's General Manager, during the most recent broadcast of the program. Initially, rumors arose that the reason would be a travel difficulty to Saudi Arabia, where the event will take place. However, the truth came to light with the confirmation that Dominik suffered a rib injury. The good news is that the injury was considered minor, and his recovery time should not be long. Still, WWE had to adapt its plans and reschedule the match involving AJ Styles. The expectation is that, as soon as he is fit, Dominik will return to the ring and have his title opportunity rescheduled.
Chad Gable's situation is a little more delicate. The fighter will undergo surgery in early July, which will keep him out for a longer period. Details of the injury have not been released, but the fact that it requires a surgical procedure indicates that the recovery will be longer and more careful. During the last Raw, Gable was attacked by Penta, in a segment clearly planned to justify his absence from the storylines. Currently, Gable has also been playing a role as a trainer for the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile, in addition to exploring his new persona as “El Grande Americano”. With his absence, WWE will have to adjust the narratives surrounding these characters as well.
The absences of Dominik Mysterio and Chad Gable come at a busy time for WWE, which has been working hard to keep its storylines engaging and its event calendar running smoothly. In Dominik's case, it is expected that he will return quickly and that he will be able to resume his rivalry soon, as for Gable, the process will be more cautious, and there is still no official return date.
