WHY DOES RIC FLAIR APPEAR ON AEW DYNAMITE?

During this Wednesday's Dynamite, Ric Flair made his unexpected debut in AEW, having been Tony Khan's "gift" to Sting. In the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained why “Nature Boy” debuted in AEW at this time.

Ric Flair should have debuted in AEW a long time ago, but after a controversy related to Dark Side of the Ring, that didn't happen, but Tony Khan and the legend maintained a verbal agreement.

It was decided to bring "Nature Boy" to AEW shows at this time because television contract negotiations will begin soon.

Tony Khan wants to use as many well-known names as possible, to increase audiences as much as possible and try to secure the best possible television deal, even if this strategy is not viable in the long term.

Ric Flair has also used his Twitter account to react to his AEW debut, saying he wants to stay by Sting's side on his journey.
