WRESTLEMANIA HELD IN LONDON?
Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has stated that WWE hosting WrestleMania in London is possible. Since John Cena's appearance at Money In The Bank and the suggestion of the idea of holding WrestleMania in England, the subject has become quite talked about in the wrestling world, and discussions about the possibility have not stopped. GUNTHER, was the latest to weigh in on the matter, admitting to the Daily Mail that he can see it happening.
“I think Clash at the Castle proved that filling these big stadiums is not a big issue for WWE right now,” he said. “People want to experience that, so if they sort out the logistical issues and everything else that goes along with that, because it can be a little tricky to organize in Europe, I really hope they do that.”
In the past two years, WWE has hosted two major live events in the UK, while AEW will hold the All In at Wembley Stadium later this month, which proves a clear demand for wrestling in that region of the world. WWE has also been hosting more events outside of the US, with regular shows in Saudi Arabia and the recent Backlash in Puerto Rico contributing to the company's growth.
The news that WWE could bring the show even got the attention of British politicians, with Alex Davies-Jones, who is the Labor Party Member of Parliament for Pontypridd, advocating for it to happen, adding further fuel to the speculation. However, WrestleMania 41 is the closest date this could happen, and it has been reported that WWE is currently focused on holding the event in the United States.
