WWE Backlash is an event that has featured many exciting matches over the years and this year the event will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico on May 6th. And today we made a top five of some of the best fights that ever took place at the event:
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock - Backlash 1999: This match is considered by many to be one of the best in WWE Backlash history. Austin and The Rock had already faced each other at WrestleMania XV, but this match was even more intense and exciting. Austin emerged victorious and became WWE Champion.
Triple H vs. Chris Jericho - Backlash 2000: This match was for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and featured two of the best wrestlers of the era. The match was very even and intense, but in the end, Jericho emerged victorious and became the new Intercontinental Champion.
The Rock vs. Goldberg - Backlash 2003: This match was a dream come true for many WWE fans as it featured two of the biggest stars in wrestling history. The fight was very intense and had many emotional moments. In the end, The Rock emerged victorious, but both fighters gave the fight their all.
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho - Backlash 2008: This match is considered by many to be one of the best matches in WWE history. The rivalry between Michaels and Jericho was intense, and the fight was very exciting from beginning to end. Michaels was victorious, but the fight was very even and intense.
John Cena vs. Edge - Backlash 2009: This match was for the WWE Championship and featured two of the best wrestlers of the era. The fight was very balanced and intense, with many exciting moments. In the end, Cena emerged victorious and retained the WWE Championship.
