GÜNTHER ARRIVES EPIC LONGEST REIGN
It was on the June 10, 2022 SmackDown that Gunther defeated Ricochet and won the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Since then, "Ring General" has not lost the title, and a couple of weeks ago he reached 400 days as WWE Intercontinental Champion. This Saturday, the Austrian reached yet another historical mark, becoming the fighter with the 3rd longest WWE Intercontinental Championship reign at 414 days.
The leader of the Imperium surpassed the reign of "Macho Man Randy Savage of 413 days, and ahead of him has only Pedro Morales with 424 days and Honky Tonk Man.com 453 days of reign.
Gunther already had incredible fights during his reign, especially against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre Along the way, he also defeated fighters like Shinsuke Nakamura, Mustafa All, among others. If Gunther retains the title through September 8th, he will then break the record for longest reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion.
However, at SummerSlam on August 5th, the "Ring General" will face the "Scottish Warrior" again, in what should be another great title match.
