CELEBRITIES AT WRESTLEMANIA (TOP 10)
Celebrities have always played an important role at WrestleMania, both as special guests and active participants. Some of these appearances have become unforgettable moments in the history of the event, and as this year the theme of the event is Hollywood below are some examples of celebrities who have participated in WrestleMania and their defining moments.
MR. T - WRESTLEMANIA I (1985)
The actor and boxer was invited by WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan to be his partner in a tag team match against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff at WrestleMania I. success and helped catapult WWE to mainstream success.
DONALD TRUMP - WRESTLEMANIA 23 (2007)
Before becoming the President of the United States, Trump was a successful businessman and a huge fan of wrestling. He made an appearance at WrestleMania 23 as part of a storyline where he bought the program from WWE. Trump also participated in a hair-on-hair match with WWE President Vince McMahon, in which the loser would have his head shaved. Trump emerged victorious from the fight.
MIKE TYSON - WRESTLEMANIA XIV (1998)
Tyson was one of the most famous boxers in the world at the time and was invited to be the special referee for the match between Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XIV. During the match, Tyson turned on Michaels and punched him in the face, helping Austin win the match.
FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. - WRESTLEMANIA XXIV (2008)
Mayweather, one of the greatest boxers of all time, made an appearance at WrestleMania XXIV in a match against The Big Show. The fight was a success and Mayweather surprised everyone by landing a punch to the Big Show's face that caused him to fall.
These are just a few examples of how celebrities have played an important role in the history of WrestleMania. They add an extra layer of emotion and unpredictability to the event and often become part of the night's most memorable moments.
KIM KARDASHIAN - WRESTLEMANIA XXIV (2008)
Still talking about WrestleMania 24 next on the list is Kim Kardashian, the most talked about socialite in the United States is always making a cameo in series and television programs. Whenever she can, Kim is there to show off.
At Wrestlemania 24, it was no different: rapper Kanye West's wife was invited to host the event and she didn't hesitate!
FLO RIDA - WRESTLEMANIA XXVIII (2012)
The American rapper didn't come to the event as a referee, manager or some other piece of the storyline. As many have done, Flo Rida only went to WrestleMania to perform.
However, his presence was marked by a disagreement with Heath Slater, one of the "wannabe rockers" of 3MB. The two even had a small confrontation during a pay-per-view segment, but nothing extraordinary.
SNOOP DOGG - WRESTLEMANIA XXIV AND XXVII (2008/2011)
Another rapper who has participated in a segment at WrestleMania is Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion). Snoop was present at two editions of Wrestlemania, the 24th and the 27th. In the latter, he participated in a backstage stretch alongside manager Theodore Long.
MUHAMMAD ALI - WRESTLEMANIA I (1985)
Another boxing star who has already been present at Wrestlemania is the legendary Muhammad Ali, voted "Sportsman of the Century" by the renowned North American magazine Sports Illustrated.
Unlike Floyd Mayweather, Ali didn't attend WWE's biggest event to wrestle. As we've already seen in a previous post, the boxer was present at the first Wrestlemania in history as referee of the duel Hulk Hogan and Mr. T x Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff.
PAMELA ANDERSON - WRESTLEMANIA XI (1995)
Canadian Pamela Anderson gained worldwide success with the TV series "Baywatch" (in Brazil also known as "SOS Malibu"). The model that was in the dreams of many grown men in the 90's also participated in a Wrestlemania, more specifically in the 11th edition, as valet to the superstar Diesel, who faced and defeated Shawn Michaels, thus remaining as WWF Champion.
LIMP BIZKIT - WRESTLEMANIA XIX (2003)
The band Limp Bizkit performed at WrestleMania XIX on March 30, 2003, held at Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. The presentation took place during the entrance of the American professional wrestler, The Undertaker.
Limp Bizkit performed the song "Rollin'", which was The Undertaker's entrance theme at the time. The band played live as the wrestler walked towards the ring, in one of the most iconic moments of WrestleMania XIX. The performance was well received by fans and helped to add even more excitement to an already electrifying event.
After WrestleMania XIX, Limp Bizkit continued to have a close relationship with WWE, including releasing an updated version of "Rollin'" for the WWE SmackDown! in 2002, as well as other musical collaborations and appearances at WWE events.
