END OF BRAND SPLIT IN WWE?

In 2016, WWE resumed with the idea of officially dividing its main rosters, that is, RAW and SmackDown, resuming the Brand Split.

However, as time went by, WWE created the “Wild Card” rule, where, weekly, several wrestlers made appearances on opposing brands. Over time, the idea was also dropped, giving way to the “Brand To Brand Invitational”, which originally had the purpose of having a talent from each brand appear on the rival program once a quarter.

According to sources, the last idea created generated a certain dissatisfaction in the company's creative team, since in the view of many this limits the possibility of creating stories, since the number of talents available per show becomes small. This dissatisfaction, added to the fact that USA Network and FOX are not demanding that their shows have fixed talent, caused a new change in plans to occur.

In addition to Roman Reigns and The Usos, who are champions for both brands, several stars have been moving freely from one show to another in recent months, such as Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, Dominik Mysterio, Ricochet, Braun Strowman and Street Profits.

This raises the question of the Brand Split possibly coming to an end in WWE. A Draft hasn't been held for a long time, not even having plans to happen again. Obviously, the possible sale of the company in the coming months, along with the negotiation of new television contracts for RAW and SmackDown, will have to determine whether the separation of rosters will remain alive or not.
