CM PUNK COULD CONTROL WWE NXT IN THE FUTURE

CM Punk's recent appearance at NXT Deadline appears to be part of a long-term plan for the recently returned WWE star. Reports suggest that Punk has aspirations of eventually leading WWE's developmental brand, NXT.

According to Fightful Select, Punk voluntarily spent several days at the WWE Performance Center. He has been behind the scenes at television show tapings, offering advice and assistance to talent seeking guidance. Punk watched fights, provided feedback to those involved, and spent time in “gorilla position” and behind the main camera with the coaching team.

During his time in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), it was reported that Punk was there to help the next generation, but his advice was not always followed. In NXT, Punk appears to be enjoying a role with less pressure compared to what he desired in AEW. WWE sources say Punk is welcome at the Performance Center whenever he wishes, and reports from PC indicate that Punk's presence has been positive.

While CM Punk's long-term plan reportedly involves succeeding Shawn Michaels as head of NXT, WWE sources suggest that such a transition is far off the horizon. It is believed that Michaels has no plans to end his time in NXT anytime soon.
