MERCEDES MONE COULD RETURN SOON TO WWE
The Royal Rumble gets even closer next month, and Mercedes Moné signals that a return to WWE could be in the plans. The former Sasha Banks has not been seen in a WWE ring since leaving in May 2022, reportedly due to creative disagreements related to the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, which she and Naomi held at the time.
Since leaving WWE, Moné has built her reputation in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Stardom, becoming the second IWGP Women's Champion in February. However, an ankle injury has kept her out of action since May, and her NJPW contract has expired, leaving her future uncertain.
With the recent news that her former Four Horsewomen allies Charlotte Flair and Bayley have re-signed with WWE, speculation has increased about the possibility of Moné returning to WWE, especially as a surprise entry in next month's Women's Royal Rumble.
Moné, in turn, intensified these speculations with a series of cryptic posts on her social networks. On her Instagram Story, she shared Funko POP! Vinyl made by fans that represent various moments of her WWE career. The figure boxes prominently display the WWE logo and feature Sasha Banks as her name, not Mercedes Moné.
